Comparative Studies of South Asia, Africa and the Middle East (CSSAAME)
Comparative Studies of South Asia, Africa and the Middle East (CSSAAME) is an interdisciplinary journal dedicated to critical and comparative analyses of the histories, cultural productions, social and gender relations, politics, and economies of Africa, South Asia, and the Middle East. It particularly seeks to foster theoretically innovative scholarship that is simultaneously engaged with the global and grounded in the local. CSSAAME, which merged with the former South Asia Bulletin in 1995, is distinguished by its commitment to scholarship that brings together the breadth of comparative studies, the depth of area studies, and the theoretical sophistication of postcolonial and cultural studies.
The editorship, authorship, and readership of CSSAAME are among the most international of scholarly journals. A peer-reviewed, semi-annual journal containing both scholarly articles and book reviews, CSSAAME is distributed by Duke University Press and is indexed in the following: Alternative Press Index, America: History and Life, HR Repo (1988-), Historical Abstracts, IBZ (International Bibliography of Periodicals from All Fields of Knowledge), IBR (International Bibliography of Book Reviews), International Bibliography of the Social Sciences (France), International Development Abstracts (U.K.), Language and Language Behavior Index, PAIS Bulletin, Periodica Islamica (Malaysia), and Sociological Abstracts (U.S.A.).
The editors welcome submissions from multiple theoretical perspectives, regions, and disciplines.
