Digital Library of the Middle East
"The Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) and Stanford Libraries today announced the release of a public, open platform for the Digital Library of the Middle East (DLME), which aims to become one of the world’s largest online archives of Middle Eastern and North African artifacts. The DLME aggregates, through an ongoing program, digital records of published materials, documents, maps, artifacts, audiovisual recordings, and more from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
An international collaborative effort under development for four years, the DLME currently brings together 127,443 digital records of materials held in museums, libraries, and archives worldwide. It also provides an array of applications, tools, and descriptions that enrich the content and facilitate browsing, search, and interpretation. The DLME is intended to serve as a resource for teachers, students, and researchers, as well as for the general public."

The Institute has digitized a thousand books related to Kurds and the Middle East general. Some books can be downloaded as pdf.
"This library contains over 10,000 monographs about the Kurds, in 25 languages, several tens of thousands of published documents, collections of reviews and newspapers, photographs, videos, post cards and posters, as well as audio archives and music recordings.
This rich documentation fills over a third of the Institute's premises as well as a substantial part of its warehouse, located in a Paris suburb. References to these monographs and the principal documents have been computerized"

"Politics, Popular Culture and the 2011 Egyptian Revolution" is a digital archive documenting the 25 January 2011 uprising and its aftermath through the prism of popular culture. It has been designed for both researchers and students interested in the 2011 Egyptian revolution, as well as contemporary Egypt and the relationship between politics and popular culture more broadly.
From pop music to graffiti to satirical TV shows, popular culture played a vital role in articulating political meaning 'from below' in the wake of the 25 January 2011 uprising. The archive includes a wide range of Egyptian popular cultural texts and seeks to create a greater understanding of the significance of the 2011 uprising and its aftermath for everyday Egyptians as well as the relationship between politics and popular culture in a revolutionary context..." read on.

Universität Bonn: Translatio digitization project
"Within the framework of a project supported by the Ministry for Innovation, Science and Research of the state of North-Rhine Westphalia (duration 1.11.2013 – 31.10.2014) the Institute for Oriental and Asian Studies of the University of Bonn would like to research how European concepts had been discursively acquired between 1860 and 1945 in Asian and Middle Eastern societies.The aim of the project is to make the very scattered source materials on – to a scientific high degree innovative and for numerous colleagues connectable theme “Translation. The cognitive acquisition of European key concepts in Asian and Middle Eastern societies (1860-1945)” in a first step digital and in one place accessible. Relevant sources from the Middle Eastern and Asian saddle period shall be digitised, exploited and put on the research platform for evaluation and further work from the period 1860-1945: periodicals, lexica, encyclopedias, political publications, remissions and Ego-documents. As periodicals are the basis of the developed public sphere of the aforementioned period, these periodicals form the most important and most extensive primary texts for a conceptual history."

Arabic Collections Online (ACO) is a publicly available digital library of public domain Arabic language content. Funded by New York University Abu Dhabi, this mass digitization project aims to expose up to 15,000 volumes from NYU and partner institutions over a period of five years. NYU and the partner institutions are contributing all types of material—literature, business, science, and more—from their Arabic language collections. ACO will provide digital access to printed books drawn from rich Arabic collections of prominent libraries.
المجموعات العربيَّة على الإنترنيت عبارة عن مكتبة عامَّة رقميَّة للكتب المؤلَّفة باللغة العربيَّة والتي أصبحت في المجال العام. إنَّ هذا المشروع الرَّقمي الهائل مُمَّول من قِبل جامعة نيويورك أبو ظبي، ويهدف إلى عرض ما يقارب خمسة عشرة ألف كتاب من قِبل جامعة نيويورك والجامعات الأخرى المشاركة خلال مدة خمس سنوات من العمل. إنَّ جامعة نيويورك والجامعات الأخرى المساهمة ستقدم أنواع مختلفة من الكتب في مجالات الأدب و التجارة والعلوم وغيرها من مقتنياتها من الكتب العربيَّة. إنَّ المجموعات العربيَّة على الإنترنيت، سوف توفر إمكانية الوصول الإلكتروني إلى كتب مطبوعة مستمدَّة من مجموعات قيِّمة من مكتبات هامة.

ANS Digital Library: Ebooks
Over its 150-year history, the American Numismatic Society has published hundreds of monographs. Many of these were scanned by the Google Books project and are now openly accessible through HathiTrust. However, these scanned books provide little functionality for keyword searches or linking to related resources in the archives or numismatic collection of the ANS. As a result, we are publishing fully functional Open Access ebooks through our Digital Library, including EPUB and PDF derivatives for mobile devices.
