Until and unless it turns up again on its own terms, I'll keep the link to the archive.

as-Sikka  has been established to promote the study of Islamic numismatics through the e-publication of research articles, review articles, communications, and shorter reviews and studies. It is designed to allow members of the Islamic Coins Group as well as other contributors, to participate in activating Islamic numismatic research in a free and easily accessible medium.

We have shed the traditional publishing methodology and publish One volume per year. This volume, however, will be continually added to, and updated throughout the year, and will become final when the year is done.

Online Exhibit: The Graphics of Revolution and War

The Graphics of Revolution and War: Iranian Poster Art

This permanent online exhibit was collaboratively produced with a loan exhibition of the University of Chicago's posters on display at the Indiana University Art Museum from October 15 to December 18, 2011 (http://themester.indiana.edu/events/poster.shtml). The posters in the Bloomington exhibition were generously lent by the Special Collections Research Center of the University of Chicago Library.

The Bloomington exhibition was made possible in part by funding from the Thomas T. Solley Endowed Fund for the Pamela Buell Curator of Asian Art, Themester 2011, IU Art Museum ARC Fund, and The Center for the Study of the Middle East. The exhibition was guest curated by Professor Christiane Gruber, University of Michigan, and her doctoral student Elizabeth Rauh. The organizing curator was Judy Stubbs, the IU Art Museum's Pamela Buell Curator of Asian Art.
The website was produced and designed by Elisabeth M. Long, co-director of the University of Chicago's Digital Library Development Center, and Brad Busenius, web and graphic design specialist.
The collection of Iranian revolutionary and wartime posters are held in the University of Chicago's Special Collections Research Center. After the 1979 Revolution, the posters were acquired by Dr. Paul Sprachman, then Persian bibliographer at the University of Chicago. Dr. Sprachman acquired the posters in 1981-1982 with Title IIC funding for the University of Chicago Library's acquisition program for Persian materials. Most of the Iranian posters held in the University of Chicago's collection were bought in Istanbul and Damascus. Others were purchased in London, Paris, Istanbul, Damascus, and various other places in Pakistan and India.

Preserving and Creating Access to Unique Afghan Records, 1989-2006

The University of Arizona Libraries (UAL) and the Afghanistan Centre at Kabul University (ACKU) are collaborating on a digitization project "Preserving and Creating Access to Unique Afghan Records".

ACKU's collection is the most extensive in the region covering a time of war and social upheaval in the country, with most of the documents in the principal languages of Pashto and Dari. The collection contains information related to history, social, economic, and cultural heritage of Afghanistan. This project is being funded from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). About 2,800 titles (about 236,000 pages) are currently available.

Da Afghānistān kālanay = Sālnāmah-i Afghānistān

Da Afghanistan Kalanay also known as the Salnamah-i Afghanistan is an almanac and yearbook published by the Government of Afghanistan from 1932-1990 (1311-1369). Each volume covers political and economic history and activities of the country. Volumes 1, 1311 (1932) – v.8, 1318 (1939) and v.50, 1363-1364 (1984-85) were published under various names. For example, in volumes from 1932-35 it was called Salnamah-i Kabul; in 1934-35 it was called Annaire de Revue de Kaboul; in 1935-38 it was known as the Almanach de Kaboul (1935-38). Starting with 1333-1334 (1954-55), the title of this periodical changed to Da Afghanistan Kalanay.

Text are mostly in Dari/Persian and Pashto languages. Some issues have added title and some notes in English or French. This is a government publication and most of its volumes were published by Afghanistan Vizarat-I Ittlaat va Kultur. Some volumes were published by Pushto Tolana and Danishratu loy Mudiriyat. This government publication covers major government activities including economic and agricultural plans.

Sharqiyya

Sharqiyya is a new E-journal in English published twice a year by MEISAI and the Department of Middle East  and African History at Tel Aviv University. The journal is edited by research students and invites faculty, graduate students, and independent scholars to take part in a new and unique undertaking in the field of Middle East and African studies and history.
